Peter Mbah

Anywhere in the world, before you run for any public office, you consult experts and asked them to confirm that you are eligible for the office. You are basically asking them to point out all the demons that will come up to haunt you once you enter the public stage. If Peter Mbah had asked any well-informed person that question before attempting to run for the governorship of Enugu State, they would have pointed two things that he must address before running. These things are:
(1) THE DOCUMENTS HE FORGED:
Peter Mbah clearly forged many important documents needed to confirm his eligibility to run. He did not just forge one document like one certificate. He forged the entire certification process. It is one thing to forge a single certificate, such as his NYSC discharge certificate. It is an entirely different thing to forge the chain of events that lead to the certificate itself. This is how Peter Mbah did it.
First, when I read a letter supposedly coming from NYSC suggesting that Mbah could “continue his national service “from where he stopped”, I was shocked. “From where he stopped?” It suggested that you could do NYSC in parts (You start, you stop, and then you continue and finish up). That was odd. But if that letter came from NYSC, then we could accept that.
But with that position, Mbah was still in trouble because he was to “continued his youth service from May, 2003” according that letter; and yet he became Chief of Staff in June 2003. The problem with this then was that the Chief of Staff was a Youth Corper. Very odd on two levels: First, it violated the NYSC rule to be a Youth Corper and a political appointee. Second, it violated Enugu State rule on Public Service to be a Chief of Staff while a Youth Corper.
I thought that was the only problem with Mbah’s NYSC debacle. But what I discovered later was even more shocking. The letter supposedly coming from NYSC that allowed Mbah to “continue his service from where he stopped” was actually NEVER from NYSC. Mbah forged that letter. By so doing, he went beyond forging a single certificate. He got to the level of forging the entire NYSC institutional protocol. He forged their letter to enable him forge their certificate. This is called aggravated forgery. In fact, I finally saw the real letter from NYSC which clearly stated that NYSC rules do not allow part performance of the NYSC program. The letter from NYSC contradicted the letter Mbah forged. That meant that he forged that letter in order to circumvent the NYSC law. So, the idea of continuing from where one stopped was an idea in the mind of Mbah. Can you imagine what it meant for Mbah, who was then not even a Governor, to try to hijack the entire NYSC process? What will he do as a Governor? No wonder rigging of election was such as easy thing for them.
I have attached here side-by side the fake document Mbah manufactured and the original document from NYSC. You can see for yourself. It is not a question of whether you like Mbah or not. Truth is truth. Enugu people: it is time for our leaders to learn the importance of truth. After what happened to our brother in London today, we need to start respecting the truth. If Mbah engaged in this kind of forgery, then we don’t need to wait until he is arrested in London for us to understand that there is a problem in his past that can surface at any time in the future.
NO. 2: THE EFCC CASES:
What happened to the those EFCC cases in 2007: FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA V. PETER MBAH AND THREE ORS along with a sleuth of cases against the then Governor and several Ebeano elements? What happened in those cases? How come that in the end, corporate entities run by these men were found guilty on pleas, but no individual was ever convicted? Anyone familiar with this kind of thing can figure out the truth. The question was how much of Enugu people’s wealth was given out in exchange for non-conviction?
Enugu State has suffered so badly in the hands of Mbah’s team. How did we get to this point? How can the great people of Enugu be messed up like this? When shall we get it right?
If you try to point this out, they will attack you like a hoard of bandits and they will threaten you with useless internet gossips. They think that if they accuse you of all manner of things, you will back down. No, I am gingered and motivated by such mob-attacks. Let’s get to the bottom of it. The same gang rigged election and expects everybody to keep quiet? Peter Mbah should answer these questions. Why all this? For what purpose?
