Over 700 members of NNPP defect to Labour Party in Adamawa

Over 700 members of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Yola South Local Government Area of Adamawa State, defected to the Labour Party (LP) today.
The defectors who were led by their Chairman, dumped NNPP for Labour Party in Yola.
Receiving the decampees in Yola, the state chairman of LP, Mr. Nicholas Christopher and the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Umar Madawaki said the decampees have taken the right decision in view of the rising profile of the Labour Party in the state.
Madawaki noted that history is about to be made in Adamawa as his party is set to knock out the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and take over power in the state for the benefit of all.
The guber candidate said the LP will liberalise the economy of the state and make governance an inclusive affair.
He commended the resilience of the people of the State for identifying with the party.
The guber candidate further said that all political parties in the state were jittery over Labour Party because of the growing influence of its presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi.
Umar also said that while some governors were busy building structures that are not meaningful to the people, Peter Obi remains the only governor who ended his tenure as governor, leaving behind over N70 billion Naira and over $150 millon dollars in the coffers of Anambra State.
Leader of the defectors, Mariam Alhaji Sale, however revealed that they were in support of the LP because of its plans for the people.
