Obi’s phone was not stolen, media adviser clarifies

Valentine Obienyem, media adviser to the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, has made some clarifications over the reported missing phone of the former governor of Anambra State.
The news was all over on social media on Tuesday night that Obi’s phone was stolen by a chief at the presidential election petition tribunal.
Yesterday, Obi and other chieftains of Labour Party were at the court for the adoption of their final written address
Obienyem while speaking on reported theft said that, though, Obi left his phones on the table to exchange pleasantries with some people in the court but for safety sake, one of his aides picked up the phones without his knowledge.
He however, thanked Nigerians for their outpouring care they showed over the matter.

“Yesterday, the news of the loss of Mr. Peter Obi’s phone went viral. The spontaneous outpouring of solidarity was yet again a demonstration of the love of the people for him.
“May I happily inform you that it was not a case of theft. He left the phones on his table to exchange pleasantries with some people in court, whereupon, for safety sake, one of his aides picked the phones.
“Once again, we appreciate your concern.”
