Lady with first class degree, begs for Msc, PhD scholarship
2 min readA brilliant Nigerian lady, Miss Onyeyirichi Dike, who bagged a first class degree in the department of Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology from Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, is hungry to break further records in the academic world.
Miss Dike who graduated with a cumulative GPA of 4.62 out of 5.0, is appealing to well-meaning Nigerians, various organizations worldwide and government at all levels to offer her a University scholarship to further her Masters and PhD programs.
According to Dike, she wants to seek and impact knowledge of global visibility with an overwhelming interest to becoming a University professor and role model to the girl-child and to give back to the society.
Speaking with News Band Newspaper, Miss Dike said, “My name is Dike Onyeyirichi. I graduated from Michael Okpara Federal University of Agriculture where I bagged a first class in Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology. I have completed my NYSC as at Match 2023.
“I graduated with an aggregate of 4.62. I believe I have something to contribute to the body of knowledge and I have always wanted to be an academia. This is what I have always wanted. Growing up, I have always had this dream of acquiring certification up until the level of professorship.
“It has been a lifetime dream that at every point of my growth, I had always and have always kept this dream alive. And the reason I had this dream and still have this dream is because I believe I have something to contribute to the body of knowledge and I have always wanted to be an academia.
“I set my goals high and straight and graduated with a first class by a dint of hard work and God’s grace. I am actually appealing for a scholarship opportunity to pursue my Masters and PhD studies in order to achieve my dreams. I am calling on well-meaning individuals; I am calling on organizations worldwide and government at all levels to please avail me this opportunity to live my long time dream.
“I want to be not just a professor; not just an academia but to have an impact in the society. I want to give back to the society. It has been a long drive and I don’t want to stop my journey halfway. I will be very much happy if I am considered for this. I look towards gaining global visibility.
“I crave relevance and I don’t want to go into obscurity. I am appealing to well-meaning individuals to please come to my assistance to help me live this dream”.
