Housewife seeks divorce for lack of love, care

A housewife, Sadiya Salihu, has approached an Upper Area Court, Gwagwalada seeking the dissolution of her marriage to husband, Muhammed Mundi, for lack of love and care.
Salihu told the court that she married Mundi, in December 2022 according to Islamic Personal Law.
”This marriage was contracted in Suleja on Dec. 17, 2022, just three days after the wedding I noticed some changes in the defendant’s character towards me.
“On Jan. 7 he told me that I should get my things ready because he was returning me to my sister’s place in Gwagwalada.
“I called my people, when they came I followed them back to Gwagwalada. When I was in my parents house he called and ordered me move my things out,” she said.
Salihu urged the court to dissolve the marriage on the grounds of lack of love and care.
Mundi in his response said that his wife denies him sex.
The Judge, Malam Abdullahi Abdulkarim, advised the couple to fexplore a means of settlement.
He adjourned the matter until Feb. 14 for hearing.
