Osita Chidoka, a former minister of aviation, says arrogant refusal to respect rules is now the hallmark of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC)
The Anambra born politician was reacting to the refusal of the former Lagos State governor to sign the Peace Pact which every other presidential hopeful has done.
Recall that on 29 of September 2022, presidential candidates of all political parties had signed a peace accord committing themselves to a peaceful campaign for the 2023 election, in Abuja.
All the candidates and the national chairmen of their parties signed the accord organised by the National Peace Committee.
Some of the candidates that signed the accord were Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi of the Labour Party, and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
Others were Omoyele Sowore of African Action Congress, Hamzat Al-Mustapha of Action Alliance, Sunday Adenuga of Boot Party and the only female candidate in the race, Chichi Ojei of Allied People’s Movement (APM).
Christoper Imumolen of the Accord Party; Yabagi Sani of Action Democratic Party, Dumebi Kachikwu of African Democratic Congress (ADC), and Dan Nwanyanwu of the Zenith Labour Party also signed the pact.
While the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, was represented by his running mate, Kashim Shettima.
Mr Tinubu was allegedly in the United Kingdom where he was receiving medical attention over an undisclosed illness.
Osita however, in post on his official Facebook page, urged newsmen and civil society groups to stop further interaction with Bola Tinubu until has been able to do the needful by signing the peace accord.
He said, “The APC candidate Governor Ahmed Bola Tinubu as of today has not signed the Peace Accord. This is clearly a red flag.
“I ask all media houses, and civil society to refuse further interaction with him until he signs the Peace Accord.
“Arrogant refusal to respect rules is now the hallmark of BAT.”
