Labour Party removes John Enenche from Obi’s campaign council
1 min readThe Labour Party(LP) has said it will do the needful over the outrage which trailed the appointment of former Director of Information at the Nigerian Defence Headquarters, Maj. Gen. John Enenche, into the Presidential Campaign Council of Peter Obi
He was appointed as a representative of the North-Central in Obi’s campaign team.
It was learnt that Enenche’s name may be removed from the list and replaced with another.
Although there’s no date as to when the new list will be made public, the party has promised to provide an updated version.
Recall that Enenche when he was active in service claimed that photos and videos of unarmed #EndSARS demonstrators at Lekki Tollgate shooting on October 20, 2020 were photoshopped.
Enenche’s appointment has since stirred mixed reactions on social media platforms especially from Obi’s supporters.
Reacting, the chief spokesman for the campaign council, Yunusa Tanko on Thursday evening, stated that the council had noted the “issues raised” about the list released.
In a terse tweet, Tanko said: “The Campaign Council in synergy with the Labour Party have noted all the issues raised on Obi-Datti Campaign Council list released on the 12th October, 2022.
“We assure you we will do the needful and an updated list will be released soon.”
