There’s plot to make Hannatu Youth Minister over NYSC certificate saga

There is plot by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration to make the embattled minister of Art, Culture, and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa the Minister of Youth Development.
Emmanuel Onwubiko, the Director of Human Rights Writers Association—Huriwa, made the revelation in a statement he sent to NewsBand Newspaper.
Huriwa quoting a source in the statement said that the strategic move to make Hannatu Youth Minister is over her inability to furnish evidence of her completion of the mandatory National Youth Service Corps—NYSC program.
The Ministry of Youth Development is in charge of NYSC program. This alleged move has raised concerns over transparency and accountability in Tinubu’s government, according to Huriwa.
The source said, “According to reliable sources, there are indications that the Presidency is considering a strategic reshuffle, positioning Mrs. Musawa to head the Ministry of Youth Development. This ministry holds sway over the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), a move that has raised eyebrows and prompted concerns about transparency and accountability in governance”.
NewsBand reports that Onwubiko, the Director of Human Rights Writers Association— Huriwa, in a scathing statement last week Wednesday, claimed that Hannatu is a corp member currently posted to a law firm in Abuja.
He further disclosed that the 9th Senate also rejected Musawa’s nomination by former President Muhammadu Buhari as a commissioner representing the Northwest at the National Pension Commission—PENCOM.
Her inability to submit her National Youth Service Corps—NYSC certificate was cited as reason for her rejection by Ahmed Lawan-led Senate.
Also, authorities at the National Youth Service Corps—NYSC, confirmed that Hannatu Musawa is a serving corps member.
Eddy Megwa, spokesman of NYSC, admitted that the minister has been serving for the past eight months in the Federal Capital Territory—FCT.
He explained that it was a breach of the NYSC act for any corps member to pick up government appointment until the one year of service was over.
He further explained that Mrs Musawa was originally mobilised in 2001 for the youth service to Ebonyi state where she did her orientation programme.
She then relocated to Kaduna to continue the program before she absconded and didn’t complete the program.
