Fire guts Lagos wharehouse
Property worth millions of naira was gutted by fire at Ojoto market located at Azikiwe/Ojoto Mile 2 in Rivers State on Thursday night.
News Band at the time of filing this report could not independently ascertain the cause of the inferno.
But while speaking on the incident, the Chairman of the market, Sir Arinze Akupue said that he was in his house in the night when security guards in the market called him that there is flame coming out of the market.
Mr Akupue said he immediately called some people around the market to assist to put out the fire while he drove to state fire service.
He said over two hundred shops were burnt with people not able to pick anything from their shops.
He further revealed that three of his shops were gutted by the fire.
